HISTORY OF THIS HOLIDAY (AS RECORDED BY HISTORIAN QUARREL)
Not much research was needed to find the saint of this day
but I did some anyway because it always pays to back up any of your
original ideas with someone else's ideas. The saint of this day is
Saint Purplefish. She was canonised because she got us a holiday.
IT is quite partial to holidays and was thus as pleased with Purplefish
as the Itonians were.
Examination of an old piece of PVC in the course of research about this holiday
brought to light a suggestion from IT to the Itonians. IT suggested that
following the example of Saint Purplefish, Itonians should occaisonally declare
themselves a holiday as often as they are able.
TRADITIONAL CELEBRATION METHOD OF THIS DAY (AS RESEARCHED
BY TOWN IDIOT FIG)
This day is the day of the great Purplefish hunt. Many Itonians take the opportunity
to go the beach on this day, where a small replica of a purple fish is buried somewhere
in a staked out area and it is up to the other Itonians to find it. All sorts of other weird
stuff is buried as well, mostly purple. The Itonian to find the purple fish wins the
Purplefish Declares Today A Holiday Day trophy which is kept by that Itonian until
the next Purplefish Declares Today A Holiday Day.
