HISTORY OF THIS HOLIDAY (AS RECORDED BY HISTORIAN QUARREL)
The evidence I discovered about this holiday dated
to the very early times of the Religion of IT. What I found were several
stone tablets with hieroglyhs representing a particular set of ancient
Itonians and an animal which they revered - the crayfish. The ancient
Itonians of Tisitlan (a land reputed to be located between the Straits
of Targibral and the Pillars of Culesher but now lost) considered
the crayfish to be a great and noble creature. The crayfish was a
symbol of luck and inspired many poems and works of art by the Itonians
of Tisitlan. But this is not all there is to the history of this Itonian
Holiday.
The saint of this holiday is Saint Cledraw, who was actually one of the holy
crayfish at the Temple of IT in Tisitlan. Cledraw was canonized by IT after her
warnings allowed the Itonians of Tisitlan time to evacuate their island home
before it was sunk by a super sonic explosion which involved a can of
asparagus. And for anyone having déjà vu, this has nothing to do with any Earth
myths involving Mediterranean islands - that’s just a coincidence.
Incidently though, the Itonians of Tisitlan went on to be great inventors and
philosophers. Because their knowledge was not lost in the explosion, that
particular part of the universe benefited greatly. It really goes to show what
useful creatures crayfish can be. And that’s the reason for this Itonian
Holiday - to appreciate the crayfish and to be inspired by this marvellously cepaceous
crustacean.
TRADITIONAL CELEBRATION METHOD OF THIS DAY (AS RESEARCHED BY
LORD HOGFISH)
It is customary on this day to make paper crayfish and put them in purple cardboard
boxes. It is said that if 1000 paper crayfish are made and put in a single purple
cardboard box, then you will have a lot of paper crayfish in a box. Also, former
Itonian Elbobo created a song for this day, which can be sung or simply played while
the paper crayfish are made.
